Its a testament to Vicki and Justines hard work, skill and dedication! She was broken by them just before Christmas 09 so they have achieved a great deal!! National Foal Show Congratulations to Kirsten and Steve for their success at this years National Foal Show. "Abbeywoods Opium" the first foal from Heiland Tallulahtoo by Hollyland Faytino won the under 14.2hh Filly Class and went on to become Coloured Champion! We recently bought her mother to add to our Broodmare herd, so we hope she will produce some super offspring for us too!!
NPS Foal Show 2009 Results The Scoundrels foals 1st and 2nd in the Open Coloured Foal class!! We were thrilled that two of Harry's offspring were placed 1st and 2nd in a very strong class of ten. 1st was "Carry On Tiffin" by The Scoundrel out of DeDe, a Welsh Cob x TB (by Eternal Quest) bred, shown and produced by her owner Sally Fox, she behaved brilliantly and was a credit to Sally. 2nd was the homebred gelding "Moortown Moonlight Shadow" owned and shown by his owner Sharon Lee. He had been handled, castrated, and halterbroken within the previous 3 weeks and behaved very well! Sally then entered Tiff in the Show Hunter Pony Class and won that too, not bad for the first time out!!
"Tiffin" with Sally "Moortown Moonlight Shadow"
"The Scoundrels" Stud Season 2009 Harry had an incredibly successful stud season this year covering 40 mares in total, 36 being visitors and AI's. We would like to thank all our clients old and new and wish them all the best for 2010.
AI Success for 2010 We are delighted and incredibly thrilled to announce that Moortown Indecision is infoal for 2010 using frozen semen from Weggs Powder Mountain and that our other lovely broodmare Cullintra Star is infoal using chilled semen from Country Top Dollar. As usual we do all our AI's without the use of a vet. Thanks to the AI expertise of Sue Carden from West Kington Stallion Centre, and the timing decided from teasing with "The Scoundrel" we have kept up our 100% success record!! We have AI'd using chilled semen for the last few years but this was the first attempt at using frozen semen without veterinary assistance for Sue and us. Everyone including our vet thought we were wasting our time but they had to eat their words when scanning proved we had cracked it and she was safely infoal!!!!!! We are really excited and can't wait for them to arrive next Spring!
Heiland Tallulahtoo Many thanks to Kirsten and Steve for letting us buy this lovely young mare. She sadly suffered a freak accident which has finished her showing career so we look forward to having some lovely foals from her.
Chaps Championship Show Sept 09 As usual we really enjoyed our 3 days at Arena UK! "Moortown Elijah" our much loved orphan foal was 2nd in the Trad/Native Foal Class!! "Moortown Tallulah Too" our lovely Traditional yearling Filly by "The Scoundrel" was 2nd in the Yearling Trad/Native Final and took it all in her stride!
"Moortown Frilly" our gorgeous homebred 3yr old Traditional Filly was 3rd in the Trad 3yr old Finals.
"Freyas True Passion" our Trad Broodmare successfully Graded and was 4th in an incredibly strong class! "Cullintra Star" our super quality Broodmare was 3rd in the Large Broodmare Class.
Royal Cornwall Show 4/6/09 "Moortown Frilly" our lovely homebred 3yr old Traditional Filly won the very strong Mixed Coloured Youngstock Class. She was the only Traditional forward and had some extremely well bred youngsters behind her in the line up, we were thrilled with the result! Thanks to Country Farm Stud The late Holmesley Tinkerbell 2nd won the Broodmare Championship at last years CHAPS Championship Show and Country Farm Stud kindly offered a free covering to one of their stallions as a prize. They have very kindly extended their generous offer to the Reserve Champion Mare our lovely "Cullintra Star", it was a hard choice with their wonderful selection of top class stallions but we have finally decided on Country Top Dollar. We would like to thank Karen Raine for her generosity in sad circumstances and look forward to a beautiful foal next year! Orphan Foal "Moortown Elijah" Tinkerbell although desperately ill managed to give birth to Eli on the 19th March 2009 at Endells Equine Hospital Salisbury, tragically Tink was put down the next day. The colt was almost a month premature but showed great determination to survive from the word go! He was born with no suck reflex, limited sight and was far from normal, he was fed by tube for the first 2 days and then began to suckle from a bottle. He had violent head shaking movements so feeding wasn't easy. He came home a week later being fed every hour day and night! He gradually improved and is now 95% normal and Im sure will be 100% before long! My friend Olivia lent me a gorgeous donkey called "Friendly" to keep him company but sadly the donkey was terrified of the foal!! We were eventually given a lovely old TB mare as a foster belonging to Mrs Charlotte Giles called "Angel" Sadly although having only lost her foal that night she didnt really develop any milk and although she took to the foal brilliantly has been unable to feed him. She is a lovely mare and lives up to her name!! She is out with him in the field and does her best to keep him under control and is hopefully teaching him some important horse behaviour!! He is being fed 2/3 hourly now (still by bottle) but we are battling to get him onto drinking from a bucket, he's thriving but we are all exhausted!! He is now 6wks old and last week Horse and Pony Magazine came down and are doing a feature on him to come out in their July/Aug issue!! He's a real character, a dreadful timewaster and has become part of the family!! My grateful thanks go out to everyone who has helped particularly Ad and Pat who have both done more than their fair share of night time feeds!! Eli in hospital 4 days old At home 7 days old Eli at 2 weeks With the aptly named "Angel" Eli at 4 weeks!! "Holmesley Tinkerbell 2nd" It is with great sadness we have to announce the loss of this fantastic mare, she foaled last night (19/3/09) giving birth to a skewbald colt foal by the Champion graded traditional stallion Hoodwink. Although desperately ill she managed to hang on long enough to foal, her son is 4 wks premature but making good progress under the expertise of the vets at Endells Equine Hospital, Salisbury. Tink was Champion Graded with the BSPA and CHAPs and was CHAPS Broodmare Champion in 08 at the Championship Show. She was a truly lovely mare and we will all miss her. RIP Tink, thanks for everything.
"Moortown Dodger" The Scoundrels first yearling colt to ever be shown had a fantastic first outing for his owner Laura Gray of Preston. He went to the Trailblazers Show at Osbaldeston Lancs 28/2/09 and had a brilliant day! 1st in the Traditional Class, 2nd in the Youngstock and went on to be Reserve Inhand Champion "Hoodwink" our lovely Champion Graded Traditional Stallion has found a fantastic new home with Lynn Shimwell in North Yorks, where he will be shown and will stand at stud. Lynn can be contacted on 07817452812. We wish her every success with him and look forward to seeing him in the ring! NPS Foal Show Kingston Maurward November 2008 Results

"Prince Romany" my 15hh CHAPS graded stallion was sold to Titi and Christer Paullson of Stall Herkules in Sweden in 2007 we wish them every success with him.
In 2001 my broodmare "Bounty" produced very strong and healthy twins by my TB stallion "BG Aquisition" They were born unaided and fed naturally without any human assisitance!! They became real celebrities, on all the news channels on TV, and had a whole page of the Daily Mail to themselves!! They are now rising 6, the coloured colt Moortown Miracle has had a very sucessful showing career including winning at the New Forest Show as a 3yr old, the bay is now owned by New Forest Agister Robert Maton and is used daily in his work in the forest. .....................................................................................................................
Roberta (Bob) my invaluable old broodmare was sadly put down in March 2007 aged 20, she will be much missed and impossible to replace. She leaves many super offspring behind her so her line lives on. "Bob" "Moortown Ohio" Roberta x Our Nellson
